Augmentin is given to people having bacterial infections. A combination drug, Augmentin resists the growth of bacteria in the body.
Once you have been given a form of Augmentin, you should keep in mind to use the same type of medicine. If the type of drug is changed, there is a possibility that it will not have any impact on the infections.
You should also see that you have taken the complete dose. If the medicine is stopped in between, there I a possibility hat the infections can relapse.
The doctor will only be able to prescribe the right dose of Augmentin only if he is aware of your whole health condition, including your allergies and diseases. You should also discuss with the physician about all the other medicines that you are using as some medicines may interact with Augmentin.
