Zithromax drug is prescribed to treat bacterial infections.
Always follow the doctor’s direction while taking Zithromax. Do not miss a dosage and complete the whole course of medication for better results. If the drug is stopped in the middle, the infection can relapse.
If you have any heart related problems, kidney and liver diseases or if you are allergic to any medicine or food, you have to tell your doctor beforehand. The drug should be taken by pregnant women and those hoping to get pregnant only after discussing with the doctor about the side effects and benefits of the drug. Breast-feeding should be avoided while taking Zithromax as the drug is seen in breast milk.
Before your doctor prescribes Zithromax, you have to tell him about all the medications that you are taking, as some medicines are known to interact with the drug. Once you are on Zithromax medication, avoid sunlight, as the drug is sensitive to sun. Well, use some protective clothing and go for sunscreen lotions and creams when going out.
Prolonged use of Zithromax is known to cause a second infection. If any signs of a second attack are noticed, inform your doctor so that he can make some changes in the medication.
Zithromax is known to cause dizziness, blurred vision and drowsiness. These can worsen if the drug is mixed with alcohol and with certain medicines. It is advised not to drive or perform any hard task unless you are aware of the drug’s effect.
